The holidays are upon us! Thanks to Nestle and Dollar General it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to create fun and festive treats. Check out their money-saving coupons on some holiday essentials.
I have 2 great and really simple and stress-free ideas to share that would be perfect for parties or even just to create a fun holiday atmosphere for your family.
Peppermint Hot Cocoa for One
My kids would definitely say that drinking hot cocoa is one of their favorite things about the holiday season. I love the idea of keeping these pre-packed little jars on hand for kids or houseguests. They would even be great stocking stuffers or as fillers for Christmas sock exchanges.
I picked all of the ingredients up at my local Dollar General store.
What You Need:
Hot Cocoa Packets
Nestle Toll House Morsels- milk chocolate chips
Snag this awesome coupon for NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Morsels for all of your baking needs! It was so easy to find everything I needed.
You could either recycle baby food jars for these or use any kind of small jar that has a lid and holds about the same amount.
Pour one single serve packet of hot cocoa into the jar first.
Next add 2 teaspoons of Nestle Toll House Morsels. Spread them around on top of the cocoa.
Crush one peppermint candy and sprinkle it on the chocolate. I like to use my finger to push the candy around so that it makes pretty layers when viewed through the side of the jar.
Finish by filling the rest of the jar with mini marshmallows. Squish them down to compress the ingredients and replace the lid.
Personalize the jar with ribbons, tags, or whatever decorations you like.
Empty the whole jar into a mug with 6 ounces of hot water and stir. Enjoy!
Festive Cookie Cutter Pizza Bites
What’s faster and easier than frozen pizza for dinner? I saw the absolutely adorable idea to cut pizza into heart shapes for Valentine’s Day and thought that it would translate perfectly into a festive holiday treat.
I grabbed a DIGIORNO® RISING CRUST® Pizza from Dollar General, baked it according to the instructions on the box, let it cool for about 10 minutes and starting cutting it up with Christmas-themed cookie cutters. I really pressed hard and jiggled to make sure I was getting a nice clean cut.
Arrange them on a tray with your favorite dip and you have a fun party appetizer or finger food for your kids. My son and daughter were crazy for them!
Dollar General is a great place to save on holiday essentials whether you are prepping for Thanksgiving this week or getting a jump on the Christmas season!
